TV time

It's been a while since we've found a series worth getting lost in. So we have looked into the past.

Babylon 5. I had forgotten how good it is. A well thought out story. Some of the filler episodes are meh, but mainly it is a very good series.

Breast is Best!

'The more our children see, the healthier our future will be!'

Images of breastfeeding should be seen by all! Young and old, in pictures and in public! It NEEDS to become the norm. Our children deserve the best!!!

Breastfeeding photos 'unsuitable for children'

This is an article about how these pictures are being banned. It is a sad place when some can't see the need for such wonderful images.

Pretty kitty

This is my kitty. We have had him for about 2 years now.

I found him one night in front of our apartment. He was weak, hungry, and cold. After picking him up, I realized he was also injured. My husband had wanted nothing to do with pets, so I smuggled him in the house and got him to the vet the next day. The vet said he had been on his own for, what he thought, 5 months and was only about 7 months old at the time. Plus he had been hit by a car over 2 to 3 months prior to finding him. He had a broken pelvis and no muscle what-so-ever on his hind legs. That day we had a blizzard and the vet was sure he would have died if we hadn't found him.

So we had 2 choices. Surgery or put him to sleep. Being that he was injured and in pain, they couldn't allow him to go on that way. So if we didn't want to get him surgery they would have to kill him. My heart sank. I could not afford surgery at the time. Before I had a chance to answer the vet, 2 of my good friends (that had come with me to the vet that day) looked at me and said Merry Christmas. They paid for the surgery so I can keep this beautiful kitty!

I love my Cody!!!

House of Night

Ok, when it comes to books. Normally my favorites have to do with vampires. So of course I have to read when something new comes out that catches my eye.

I am sorry to all that love the Twilight series. They, imo, were just awful as vampire fiction. Stupid teenage romance trash is how I would describe them. The last book, Breaking Dawn, was actually semi ok. Yet they really really didn't do it for me. I was pretty sad after reading them. With so many that just loved the books, I did expect something better.

So now I am on a new series, House of Night. Not bad really. Well not as deep as say an Anne Rice's vampire novels. But, much much better than Twilight. I am starting on the 3rd book and so far I have been entertained nicely without all that annoying teen angst b.s.
