Fellow knitter pic

Not sure how many actually read my posts, here. No worries. This one is not a real post. It is just an excuse to post a pic to help a fellow knitter with an idea for a project.  :)

So.. Yea...

So.. Yea... More knitting. Guess that explains why little blogging has been done. 

First off a birthday gift for my close friend. You know, the Dr. Whoovian that wanted the scarf. Made her some cloths for whatever. Seems I will have to make her more. She is afraid to use them in case she ruins them. Guess I need to make an extra set. One for show and one for use. You gotta use these things. that is the whole point. To use items with your joy attached and Dr.Who brings her much joy!  :-D

Now, the other project I have been busy on has been a scarf for my great Aunt. This one was a labor of love. Her twin was my grandmother who passed a few years back. Both are kind, loving and fantastic. Living so far away makes it difficult for her to know how much I care and appreciate her. For being a fantastic sister to my grandmother a wonderful Aunt to my mother and a wonderful mother to my cousins. 

I do hope she feels the love that was put into making this!

The pattern is called Chain of Hearts. It is a rib pattern and when looking close at it, it looks like hearts have been put into the rib,  :)

So what's new?

Crochet. Not very often do I get into Crochet, but I have been a bit into it lately.
(I actually have been Crocheting longer than knitting and it is much faster for me to complete a project when I crochet it, I just tend to prefer the look of knitting much more. Which explains the more knitted items I will post about.)
I've made a hat for my daughter. The pattern is by Drops Design called Mara

I've also made a flower on to it. I am also currently making a surprise blanket for her, so no pic of that yet. But I do have a pic of my reading blanket for me. Granny Squares.

 I never thought I would make a granny square blanket. I mean, there is nothing wrong with Granny Squares. For years I have seen Granny Square blankets and I just never really liked them.

The last time I was in the US I bought some yarn I really liked (natural and pine by Caron), but had no idea what to make with. Then my girl-friend asked me to make a Tardis scarf for her and bought some yarn in the US for it. Same brand. So with the leftover of her Dk Country Blue, I thought it just worked out perfectly and so a Granny Square blanket for me was born.

I've just got a couple more rows to add, but no worries, the look will be the same, just a bit bigger. I found a cool way of linking the squares without having to sew them together, so Yay! Now, the only finishing to do will be to hide the floating strands. Less work, me happy! :-D

Busy, but here

Yes, I am still about. I get in moods to post, then I get in moods to post, but don't have time.
So let me try to make time. So what have I been up to lately. 
Projects. Knitting, Crochet, Cross Stitch, Latch Hook and a few things I wanted to try to attempt. Like painting. I have always doodled abstract designs. So I am trying to put it to paint. Not going so well. The finished item looks nothing like the original sketch. If I do it to where it does resemble the sketch, it looks unfinished. So it is a work in progress.

Friendship bracelet for my kids. I though hearts were a great look for bracelets made by a Mother.  :)

Not so bad, but not sure how others would think. So what do you think?

Good ideas come and go!

What is people's problem???

We start with an idea.
It might actually help, then it becomes a good idea...
Then we develop it into reality.....
Then we test it out....
OPPSSSS!!! It actually isn't better. Too bad!!!
It is now a BAD idea!
Time to let it go and think of something ELSE!

This follows a lot of areas of our lives. Including things we have grown up with. Sometimes it takes years before we learn that a good idea is actually harmful. Lets learn from that mistake and move on to something new!

Breast feeding is best! Formula is harmful. If you have no choice, THAT is different, but if you do have a choice... We have LEARNED that Breast is best and Formula can be very Harmful.
Same with Vaccines, same with some medications.
GMOs also!
GMO could help hunger could help the world. Great idea. Unfortunately it have been shown to be harmful. Lets LEARN from this and move on!

Birthday Jacket

I tried to post this before. I guess I was too tired when I tried, it has been sitting in drafts for a while. So I thought I would re-post it new.


For my friends daughters 3rd birthday. I knitted up a sweater and Coif.
Her daughter loved it. She put it on her and Lily didn't act annoyed or try to take it off through her whole birthday party.
It is nice when a 3 year old can appreciate a nice homemade knitted sweater. :)))

POISONED Ack!

I was poisoned. Can you believe it? Well not on purpose. Was doing some yard work and turns out I am highly sensitive to a poisonous plant in the yard. We haven't lived in this house very long. So I had no clue about this plant.
I had one friend freak when she saw it. Since we have kids, she insisted we think about removing it. Well, we are. Now I have Rheumatoid Arthritis due to this plant. Ugh!!!!!

The doctor did say that it might get better in time since it was caused by this plant and not due to my body getting older. (Sorry, forgot how he explained it)

Ok, so the deal. I am very sensitive to pharmaceutical meds. So they are a no go for me. If anyone has natural remedies or advice. I would much appreciate it.

Scalloped

Ok. I am a knitter. I bet you didn't know that. Well I haven't been too active in that area of my life lately. So I have started to move a bit more forward onto bigger projects, a bit more to talk about worthy.

I have a close friend who is having a baby soon, so I made her this scalloped blanket. Pretty, huh? Well I think so.
I have done this pattern before some years back and this is that one. The yarn is a different material and it is just done in one color. Funny how something so simple can make all the difference in the world.

Cute kitty

I love my kitty cat! He was being exceptionally adorable the other day, so I thought I would share a pic.
We rescued him from certain death a few years ago, so these, to us, are very precious moments. :)
